Barcelona - South Korean electronics manufacturer LG took a step backward from their previous flagship smartphone when launching their G6 device, ahead of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Sunday.
The manufacturer seemed to have gone back to basics after the launch of the G5 smartphone at last year’s MWC, including a smaller camera in the new device, and no more modular functionality.

The LG ‘Friends’ - as the auxiliary attachments were known - have been ditched in the new flagship device.
The LG G6 will carry on the legacy for the manufacturer’s premium smartphone segment in what seems like a slightly toned-down, less ostentatious version of the device which managed to scoop numerous of awards at last year’s MWC.
The LG comes in 32GB and 64GB storage variants, with upgradeable storage via microSD card slot.
A win for the device is it’s slightly larger 5.7 inch display with 1440x2880 pixel resolution.
The device's primary camera has been downgraded from a 16 megapixel camera to 13 megapixel camera.

While megapixels might not necessarily affect the quality of an image - more megapixels means the picture can be larger and contain more information.
The device features a Snapdragon 821 chipset and a 3300mAh Li-Ion battery, which is slightly larger than its predecessor’s 2800 mAh.
The device features an all-round unique design from the LG G5 with the larger display contributing to a higher screen-to-face ratio in the device.
The G6 is more aesthetically appealing than its predecessor, and all though the company might have taken a step backward, the G6 will be a great device to stream content off.
