#BlackFriday: The ultimate guide to over 50 online sales

Johannesburg - Black Friday, which is synonymous with the US tradition of deal-seekers rummaging through malls for the cheapest deals, has now become a customary marker that ushers in the shopping season for South Africans.

Numerous stores around the country are already gearing up for throngs of customers who are expected to rush into stores for sales not seen throughout the year.

But if bustling malls aren't your thing, digital stores are offering all the sales deals available at users' fingertips for Black Friday.

We’ve rounded up 51 of the best online deals for this Black Friday:

1. Samsung - Electronics manufacturer Samsung in South Africa has set up its own Black Friday store. Hyping up deals expected to be available on Friday, the company's website message reads: “Prepare yourself for great offers, with amazing value adds. From the World’s No.1 selling TVs*, to cutting-edge Smartphones and intuitive home appliances. Get there early to get the best deals as stocks and offers are limited!”

2. Clicks - In preparation for the sale rush, Clicks has already been hosting pre-Black Friday in a “Countdown to Black Friday” deals. Some of Clicks' deals will only be available from the online store. 

3. One Day Only  Although this website celebrates Black Friday almost every day, onedayonly.co.za is offering customers more deals this Black Friday. The company earlier tweeted: “Get ready to go stuff yourself, only 2 more days until #BlackFriday. Thought our deals couldn't get any better? Thought wrong.”

4. Takealot - Takealot has been preparing for Black Friday with a ‘Blue Dot Sale’ through the website’s app only.  The Takealot sale is expected to last throughout the weekend, with the online store setting up a Facebook event for the Blue Dot Sale. Takealot’s hashtag - #blueisthenewblack of course.

5. BidorBuy - Online shopping website BidorBuy is already offering users up to 70% off on products for the Black Friday sale, lasting all week long.

6. Spree - Online clothing store Spree is expected to offer users discounts on items of clothing with the Black Friday sale starting at midnight on Friday morning.

7. Zando – Online clothing retailer Zando is currently offering up to 80% off items on their website as part of their Black Friday promotion.

8. Dion - Dion Wired is offering up to 50% off on electronics through their online store, only on Black Friday.

9. Tangled – Computer and mobile accessories retailer Tangled will offer 33% off all products for Black Friday.

10. Incredible Connection -  The electronics retailer has remained mum over exactly what deals will be available for Black Friday but is requesting that users sign up to its website prior to the sale.

11. HiFi Corp – The electronics and appliance retailer is offering up to 80% off on big brands with a catalogue on its website.

12. Raru – Online gaming retailer Raru will be running a Black Friday sales promotion from 8 am to 8 pm with discounts on consoles and games expected.

13. Game – Game is expected to offer discounts of electronics and other gadgets on Black Friday.

14. Action Gear  – Tech and outdoor equipment retailer Action Gear is offering customers between 20% and 50% off products for Black Friday.

15. Rebel Tech – Computer and accessory retailer Rebel Tech is on the bandwagon with sale prices expected to be revealed on Black Friday.

16. Digicape – The online electronics retailer is expected to have a Black Friday sale with prices to be revealed on the day.

17. Xbox – Save 40% to 57% on digital Xbox games for Black Friday.

18. PlayStation - Get ready for the biggest deals of the year on PlayStation console bundles, software and more from the local PlayStation website for Black Friday.

19. Sportscene – Clothing retailer Sportscene is offering customers up to 70% off items for Black Friday.

20. Evetech – The PC, accessory and laptop online retailer is offering users a sale for Black Friday but is yet to reveal pricing.

21. Wootware – Computer retailer Wootware is also counting down to Black Friday with a sale expected on its website.

22. Digital Experience – The computer, mobile and accessory retailer in Fourways, Johannesburg  is having a Black Friday earlier on Thursday from 6pm and the first 50 customers will get a free boerewors roll.

23. Origin – Gaming retailer Origin is offering up to 75% off games for all consoles for its Black Friday sale.

24. WeChat – Surprisingly, the social networking app is having a Green Friday sale offering its customers a Sony Playstation 4 500GB Slim console with three games for R3 549 or an Xbox One 500 GB console and game for R1 999 when paying using WeChat Wallet.

25. Loot – Online store Loot is offering customers up to 80% off items for Black Friday only.

26. Zasttra – The online clothing and accessory retailer is offering 80% off everything in its online store until Monday.

27. Specsaver -  Specsaver is offering 60% off in an exclusive online promotion for Black Friday.

28. CyberCellar – Online booze retailer CyberCellar is expected to have a Black Friday promotion where prices will be revealed on the day.  

29. Travelstart – Travelstart will offer flights from R199 with discounts also expected on holidays for Black Friday.

30. Uniterm Direct – Computer and accessory retailer Uniterm direct has been hosting week-long sales as a part of its Black Friday promotion.

31. CNA – CNA is offering online customers R200 off of some of the latest console games on its online store. 

32. Makro – Makro is offering customers a sale on electronics and other devices with deals on TVs, consoles and other gadgets.

33. MRP Home – Mr Price Home is having an extended sale around Black Friday called the Black Fiveday Promo.

34.  Sunglass Hut – The eyewear retailer is offering users up to 50% off sunglasses on its website for Black Friday.

35. Markham – A range of items from the men’s fashion retailer is available on the site for its Black Friday sale.

36. Fabiani – The men’s clothing retailer has created a Black Friday section on its site for items which will be on sale for Black Friday.

37. Vodacom - Vodacom is seemingly the only mobile service provider in the country to offer Black Friday cellphone deals  on Black Friday.

38. Catch of the Day – Catch of the Day is offering users a range of boxes from R699 which include various items and appliances, along with other Black Friday deals.

39. Cellucity – The mobile store is expected to have an online sale with no details around what will be on sale for Black Friday.

40. Pick n Pay – With marketing around their Black Friday sales, Pick n Pay stores are guaranteed to be swamped tomorrow, with the online store also offering sales.

41. Superbalist – The online clothing retailer has been offering items on sale since the beginning of the week with new sales every day.

42. The Watch Shop – The Watch Shop online retailer is expected to have a Black Friday sale at the weekend with 25% off on some of the most expensive watches.

43. Watch Republic – The online timepiece retailer is currently having its the Black Friday sale with deals on watches from premium manufacturers.

44. Uber – UberEATS is offering users 50% off their meal for Black Friday.

45. Bidvest McCarthy - On Friday, Bidvest McCarthy will host its largest ever one-day sale starting at 00:00 and ending at 00:00, the following day.

46. DStv – The pay-TV service provider is offering a new DStv Explora for R1 499 as part of a Black Friday promotion.

47. NetFlorist – Need to send flowers to someone? There’s no better day to show you’re a cheapskate than Black Friday with deals from NetFlorist.

48. Sassy Chic – The women’s online retailer is offering up to 50% off items for the Black Friday sale expected to last until Monday.

49. Home Choice – The home shopping retailer is currently hosting its Black Friday sale with bedding from R199.  

50. Hilti – Hilti is having its first Black Friday sales event, offering 30% off selected tools and 65% off selected inserts and consumables.
