Johannesburg - Less than a week after the launch of the Apple iPhone 7, rumours surrounding next year’s launch of the 'iPhone 8' are already circulating online.
Speculation around next year’s September launch anticipates that the next iPhone, which theoretically should be called the “iPhone 7S”, will drop the name in favour of iPhone 8 to coincide with the handset's 10 year anniversary.
The first-generation iPhone was launched in June 2007.
Most of the features announced at the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus launch last week were already found on many Android devices.

Among the web buzz around the next iPhone then is that it will be likely be developed with a zirconia ceramic body, a material more resistant to breakage.
Online sources also report that the display of the next device could either be OLED or AMOLED resulting a in a brighter and more vivid display – some rumours go as far as to say the next iPhone will feature a curved screen.
OLED technology, recently released in South Africa by TV manufacturers such as LG, is a malleable material which allows for bending and is lighter than other materials.
If the display on the next iPhone is made of OLED, this may allow for a more curved screen.
And if online speculation is to be believed, the next iPhone will also an iris scanner and wireless charging and the removal of the iconic home button.
