Sony Xperia Z3 tops local Orange chart

Cape Town - Japanese phone maker Sony has jumped to the top of the charts on the SA Orange online store results for the second quarter of the year.

According to data from Orange Horizons, the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact is the top selling smartphone on the platform, eclipsing the Motorola Moto G (2nd Gen) previous leader which fell to third place.

The Sony device sells for R5 565 on the online platform, compared to R6 749 on Vodacom prepaid or on contract for R598.99 per month.

New devices to make the list includes the LG G4 flagship which recently launched in SA.

"Since its launch in South Africa in early 2013 the Orange online store has done exceptionally well, exceeding expectations. We believe that this a result of the Orange online store appealing to the needs of not only the tech savvy consumers but also first time online shoppers looking to buy from a trusted source," Blake Levitan, country manager of Orange Horizons in South Africa told Fin24 recently.
