Cape Town - With Mother's Day around the corner, Samsung has launched a campaign to get children to call their moms - with a Galaxy S6, of course.
One message for example, has Mom texting: "Can you talk?" in all capitals, with the response: "Why are you shouting?"
"I'm not, can you hear me?" the surprised mom replies (still in capitals).
Samsung is under pressure in its smartphone battle with Apple.
While the South Korean company sells more devices, it operates on smaller margins than the Californian company which also benefits from product placement in movies and TV.
According to IHS Technology, Samsung's latest Galaxy S6 costs more to build than the iPhone 6, but costs less than the Apple device without a carrier subsidy.
The video, published by Samsung's US division, is part of a competition designed to build brand awareness for the Galaxy S6, but ultimately, to get people to call their mothers on Sunday.
