Cape Town – Broadcaster e.tv's parent company eMedia Investments has shifted managers around to position the firm in a “changing media environment”.
Maxwell Nonge will become the group’s chief technology officer while eNCA’s Patrick Conroy takes over as managing director of OpenView HD.
Anton Harber, Caxton Professor of Journalism at the University of the Witwatersrand, is appointed Editor-in-Chief of eNCA, the company announced.
Nonge, who has experience at Sentech, has been tapped to “leverage technology across the group and take advantage of the rapidly changing media environment”.
Mark Rosin, chief operating officer said that Conroy was the ideal candidate to replace Nonge’s role.
“We believe he has the skills to capitalise on OpenView’s success to date and also to build the platform’s revenue generating opportunities. He will also look to explore a new content marketing opportunity which we believe is important to a rapidly evolving media environment.”
The changes come as editor-in-chief for the News24 channels, Andrew Trench announced his departure from the Naspers-owned group.
All eMedia Investments are effective by March 1.
