New boss for Business Connexion

Cape Town - Business Connexion [JSE:BCX] on Wednesday announced that it has appointed a new CEO to replace Leetile Benjamin Mophatlane, who died of a heart attack last month.

In a notice on Sens BCX advised shareholders of the appointment of Isaac Mophatlane, current head of sales and marketing and executive of the Canoa division, as the new CEO with effect from August 1 2014.

Isaac is a co-founder of BCX, and the twin brother of Benjamin Mophatlane. He held various positions within the company over the past 18 years.

More recently, he provided leadership and direction in the Innovation division which houses BCX’s own software and packaged intellectual property prior to taking responsibility for the Canoa division which drives the group’s Managed Print Solutions offerings.

Chairperson Tony Ruiters said Isaac was the natural choice of successor given his background as co-founder and his intimate understanding of the operations and culture of the company.

He praised him for his impeccable judgement, deep integrity and honour.

The process to find a new CEO started shortly after the death of former CEO Leetile Benjamin Mophatlane.

"Benjamin was instrumental in building BCX into SA's leading IT company and led BCX business activity in the rest of Africa," the group said in a statement released on Sens.

The group said Benjamin Mophatlane left an indelible mark on the company, the employees of the group and its clients.

Isaac is a member of the Black Management Forum, the Electronic Industries Federation of South Africa and the Black Information Technology Forum. He is also the deputy non-executive chairperson of the Catholic Education Investment Company.
