EOH snaps up R300m rail company

Johannesburg - Local technology company EOH has acquired a firm that specialises in building operational nerve centres for the rail industry.

EOH said on Monday that it has acquired Mehleketo Resourcing Proprietary Limited which has a turnover of over R300m and about 350 employees.

Mehleketo is further said to have a number of long-term project and maintenance and support contracts with major operators in the country, said EOH in a statement.

“It’s very exciting to have Mehleketo join the EOH family. They will take us to new places and markets which are strategic to EOH’s growth plans,” said EOH group chief executive officer Asher Bohbot.

“Our industrial technology division, of which rail technology is part, is a major component of our growth strategy. This division’s services, which are critical for the infrastructure development required in South Africa and on the rest of Africa, include services and solutions in energy, water, connectivity and transport / rail”, added Bohbot.

EOH, which is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), has 9 000 staff and delivers a range of services including outsourcing, cloud, managed services and business service offerings across industries.
