Cell C banner changed - report

Johannesburg - The banner slamming cellphone network provider Cell C has been changed, The Star reported on Thursday.

The initial banner, which was put up by disgruntled Cell C client George Prokas, which is prominently displayed on a wall outside the WorldWear Mall on Beyers Naude Drive originally read: "The most useless service provider in SA - Cell C Sandton City."

It also named the branch manager and his phone number.

Cell C applied for an urgent interim interdict against the banner. The High Court in Johannesburg dismissed the application and ordered that Cell C pay Prokas's legal costs.

The banner, put up on November 6, was altered before the court appearance to read: "Cell C the most useful cellular provider. It was not known who changed it.

The current banner does not have the network logo. It reads: "Cell C-perceived by the owner of this billboard to be the most useless service provider in SA as experienced via Cell C Sandton City."
