The percentage of households in informal dwellings also increased slightly over the same period from 13% to 13.4%.

However those owning their homes declined significantly from 68.7% in 2002 to 65.2% in 2009.

The survey also revealed that nationally, access to flush toilets increased from 18.4% in 2002 to 24.1% in 2009.
