Who is cashing in on e-tolls fees?

The proposed toll roads in Gauteng is illegal and irrational, writes Fin24 user Paul Nel:

In terms of National Treasury's own financial legislation (PFMA), the department must ensure that resources are used effectively, efficiently and economically and that unauthorised, irregular or fruitless and wasteful expenditure and other losses are prevented.

Furthermore, the PFMA states that an act of misconduct occurs if an official willfully or negligently fail to comply with certain requirements or makes or permits unauthorised, irregular or fruitless and wasteful expenditure.

Why do we need to double pay for that roads? (Collection fees). Fire the minister and officials allowing this wasteful expenditure.

Why is the government trying so hard to force this expensive system on us. It is very irrational and sinister.

Are influential individuals benefiting from this inefficient and very expensive electronic tolling system?

If people have to pay e-tolls then government fuel levies should be scrapped. How can you pay twice for the same thing ... maintenance of roads.
