Nelson Mandela was the personification of love in action - which is service to mankind, writes Fin24 user Hamida Suliman.

Heavenly Father, your infinite love for us is displayed when Nelson Mandela our beloved Tata Madiba was sent from heaven and appointed as our guide during this earthly pilgrimage of an incredible life of moral courage.
You have blessed him with a capacity to forgive and a blessing of Thy holy commandment: "To love thy neighbour".
Tata was also the embodiment of the words "thank you". He uttered it with such humility and incredible depths that it made an entire world kneel at its impact.
After all his selfless service to humanity Thy blessed him with a tenderness of an angelic heart. Now heavenly Father my prayer for him is that you cease not to cover him with your glory and merciful grace until he has attained his final destiny of eternal salvation in heaven.
Tata we will miss your smile and laughter and the glimpses of what you had to endure that it revealed.
Our Heavenly Father knows the loneliness, the fears, the tears of separation you must have felt during those testing years.'
And God turned all that into selfless love and compassion and raised you to take your rightful place as a prince of the people, a fearless and dignified leader and a world icon.
I applaud all of these incredible achievements, but I also salute a man that towered above mankind and was never too arrogant to bow to children.
A man whose face was once forbidden in public. A face my late mom described in song to us not to lose hope that our freedom will come when you gain your freedom.
She waited and never gave up hope until 1986 when she left us to walk with God.
Thank you Tata for making her dream come true. Now God blessed your face to be seen across the globe.

An end of an era and like the mysterious shining star in the sky I can but wonder if you were God's sign of an angel walking amongst us?
