A Fin24 user has decided to give money a piece of her mind. Asia (surname withheld), writes:
If money had to be an actual person, this would have been my conversation with it:
My family worked for you for generations and generations. Now I also work for you.
I take the bus early in the morning, making a one-hour trip to and from work each day, which means two hours gone from my day.
I further spend eight hours working for you from Monday to Friday. That is 10 hours per day times 20 days, which equals 200 hours per month.
This is crazy!
I am sick and tired of working for you. You rob me of my time and energy.
I work the whole month for you, then, at the end of the month, I finally get paid and then you don't even have the humanity to stick around.
After all I have gone through to get you, you never really belong to me. You are insensitive and cold.
I feel cheated and there is no connection between us, no relationship. I am doing everything to get my hands on you, but you always find a way of leaving me.
It feels like I am your slave and you never really care what I do, how long I work or how I must many times bite my tongue for you.
But I will find a way to fix this. I will free myself from this never-ending rat race. One day is one day.
I will find a way to be your master and you will work me. You will repay me all the hours and energy I've put into acquiring you - with interest.
You will work for me, my children and their children and be our slave. I'll make it my life's work to master you till the end of my days.
