A Fin24 user Linda wants to know what the impact of the African Bank curatorship is on garnishee orders in favour of the bank. She writes:
We run a small business and are paying over monies for one of our staff via collection attorneys (for African Bank) on a garnishee order every month.
Is there going to be a problem with this now?
What do we do? Do we still pay over this money each month as usual? How does this affect his payments?
I am not sure how this works, as it is the first time we have had to pay monies on garnishee for an employee.
I am a bit concerned. Can you advise?
African Bank's curator Tom Winterboer of PwC responds:
Garnishee orders must still be paid if a garnishee order has been granted by a court of law. Regular operations continue.
