Johannesburg - A backlog of co.za domain name registrations was cleared at the weekend, South Africa's domain name administrator said on Monday.
"UniForum, the SA domain name administrator, has confirmed that the backlog of co.za domain name registrations and updates was cleared over the weekend," a statement said.
"The dedication of our staff was more than evident as our support department cleared their backlog on Saturday and our accounts department cleared their backlog yesterday [Sunday]."
The backlog was caused by a hardware failure at UniForum last week, causing frustration for IT professionals around the country.
UniForum said the only "minor issue" still to be resolved was the online credit card payment system, which was also affected by a hardware failure that had a negative impact on the co.za registration service.
