A Fin24 user writes: I would like to know how I can invest in foreign exchange-traded funds (ETFs) as at present I am investing in Satrix, but would also like to invest in foreign ETFs.
I would prefer as with Satrix to invest directly and not go via a broker.
Brett Landman, CEO of Satrix Managers, responds: There is a range of rand-denominated equity ETFs listed on the JSE, offering investors exposure to foreign or offshore equity markets.
As with Satrix, these ETFs offering offshore exposure can be bought and sold through an "investment plan" (similar to the Satrix Investment Plan).
Satrix also intends introducing a range of rand-denominated ETFs, listed on the JSE, offering investors exposure to foreign equity markets.
If you would like to identify the ETF range offering offshore equity exposure, it is the db x-tracker range of ETFs offered by
Deutsche Bank.
