A Fin24 user wants to know how she can find out what is on her credit record. She writes:
I have seen your article on Fin24 about credit records.
I would like to clear my debt this year, but have no idea what is against my record.
Do you have a website address I can visit to check what is not paid and what my credit scores are?

Kelli Knutsen of Intelligent Debt Management (IDM) responds:
You can try to log in to Experian or Transunion for a free credit report once a year.
You have to pay an additional fee to get a more extensive report, but the free one should suffice.
Once you have drawn your own credit report you will be able to see all of your debts. You will see the credit provider's name, account number, how much is outstanding and the monthly instalment.
You can then use this information to organise your finances.
