Are you financially fit?

So what can you do to stay out of the debt monster’s clutches? Fin24 user Luke believes he has the answer.

“It is simple. It is something called ‘Financial Fitness'," says Luke.

“The question that a lot of people need to ask themselves is whether they are financially fit or not.” And if you’re not, what are you doing about it?

The answer, says Luke, is dead simple: go to a "financial management gym". He says: “Here you need to start exercising your financial wisdom.”

You need to take a long, hard look, do some self-scrutiny and ask yourself the following questions:

1. Am I in a financial mess? Be honest in answering this question, urges Luke.
2. Am I living a fake life I cannot afford?
3. How long am I going to live like this?
4. Why am I not able to sleep at night?

Creditors keep offering us more credit, and for one simple reason: “they all want you to be poor for the rest of your life”.

Says Luke: “They don't care about your children's future, they will fall into the same trap as you.” In closing, he says: “Remember one thing, the ball is in your court when it comes to financial freedom."
