European stock markets slip at open

London - Europe's main stock markets dipped at the start of trading on Friday, with London's FTSE 100 benchmark index down 0.7% at 5 968.6 point.

In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index reversed almost 0.5% to 9 420.5 points and the Paris CAC 40 slid 0.2% to 4 232.2.
