London - European stock markets posted strong gains at the open on Friday, building on the previous day's surge.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index rose 0.85% to 6 064.32 points compared with Thursday's close.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index jumped 1.3% to 9 454.52 points and the Paris CAC 40 gained 1.2% to 4 297.87.
Asian stock markets rallied also as China's central bank chief said Beijing still has enough monetary firepower to keep the world's second-largest economy on track as G20 ministers gathered in Shanghai.
