New York - US stocks opened lower on Wednesday with petroleum stocks sagging on weak oil prices as investors looked ahead to the Federal Reserve policy announcement.
Five minutes into trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average stood at 17 765.72, down 83.36 points.
The broad-based S&P 500 lost 0.31% at 2 067.87, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index fell 0.27% to 4 924.06.
