New York - US stocks dropped in opening trade on Tuesday, giving back some of the prior session gains as volatility in equity markets stays elevated.
Five minutes into trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was at 17 888.83, down 87.48 points.
The broad-based S&P 500 fell 0.46% to 2 076.62, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index lost 0.42% at 4 926.71.
