London - Europe's main stock markets fell further at the start of trading on Tuesday but shares in mining giant Glencore recovered slightly from sharp losses a day earlier.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index dropped 0.90% to open at 5 905.27 points compared with Monday's close.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 shed 1.45% to 9 346.04 points and the Paris CAC 40 slid 1.37% to 4 297.19.
Indices had sunk on Monday as more disappointing Chinese economic data and downbeat analyst comment weighed on the mining sector, with London-listed Glencore closing down almost 30%.
Shares pulled back a little at the start of London trading on Tuesday, with Glencore up 5.92% at 72.68 pence.
