Johannesburg - The JSE was still at record levels by midday on Tuesday, despite a bit of volatility in morning trade with the All-share index losing ground in mid-morning and recovering towards midday.
The index was pulled higher by the Resources index which recovered strongly on Tuesday after Monday’s losses, with BHP Billiton [JSE:BIL] performing strongly after announcing better-than-expected results.
By midday the All-share index was 0.21% higher at 53 448 points and the Top 40-index gained 0.20% to 47 259. The Resources index was at that stage 1.09% higher, and the Industrial index was marginally (0.6%) stronger.
