Johannesburg - The JSE hit yet another record peak on the all-share and top 40 indices‚ boosted by counters such as Imperial Holdings [JSE:IPL]‚
Sanlam [JSE:SLM] and MTN Group [JSE:(MTN].
At 12:36pm‚ the All Share [JSE:J203] index was 0.28% higher at
37‚685.78‚ with the Top 40 - (Tradeable) [JSE:J200] gaining 0.26%.
Industrials and financial indices lifted 0.27% and 0.74%
respectively‚ fresh records for both components.
“The global market tone is pretty firmer even though volumes
remain on the lighter side as US polls take centre stage‚” said Brandon Sacks‚
trader at Avior Research.
Leading European shares were in the black at noon‚ with UK’s FTSE 100 notching up a 0.51% gain.
