Johannesburg - The JSE's dependency on overseas investors was clear again on Tuesday morning when another round of good news from the United States gave the local market a boost.
It seems that the uncertainty on when the US Federal Reserve will raise interest rates was laid to rest when one of the Fed's vice-chairpersons reiterated that any tightening of US monetary policy will happen very slowly.
A milder than expected policy tightening cycle by the Fed would boost emerging markets such as South Africa, as investors will continue to seek higher yields in these markets.
