Johannesburg - South African stocks hit a record high on Monday, helped by a rise in major gold mining and financial services firms.
The benchmark Top 40 - (Tradeable) [JSE:J200] index rose nearly half a percent to 38 827.89, eclipsing a previous high set earlier this month.
The broad All Share [JSE:J203] index also hit a record high.
