Johannesburg - The JSE All Share [JSE:J203] index hit a fresh record high on Thursday after solid manufacturing data from the United States and China sparked optimism about that global growth may be recovering.

The index touched an all-time high of 37 811.23 from a previous record of 37 749.90.
