Johannesburg – The South African rand was range bound in morning play on Thursday, tracking euro movement against the greenback.
At 09.01 the rand was bid at R7.5260 to the dollar from R7.5161 at its previous close.
It was bid at R9.2693 to the euro from its previous close of R9.2617 and was at R11.2682 against sterling from R11.2617.
The euro was bid at $1.2316 from $1.2316 overnight.
A local trader said that the local currency was trapped in a range of R7.50- R7.60 against the dollar, tracking the euro movement against the greenback.
