Johannesburg - The rand gained on Tuesday supported by better-than-expected fourth quarter economic growth numbers, but traders remained cautious ahead of the budget speech on Wednesday.
At 17:01 GMT the rand was trading 0.41% stronger at 11.6000 to the dollar. The currency gained 0.58% against the euro at R13.1028.
South Africa's GDP expanded above forecasts by an annualised 4.1% quarter-on-quarter in the fourth quarter of 2014, Statistics SA said.
