London - The price of platinum rose to its highest since mid-April on Wednesday after police in top producer South Africa said striking miners had blockaded roads leading to operations belonging to number mine miner Anglo Platinum [JSE:AMS].
Spot platinum rose by as much as 1.5% to a session peak of $1 624.74 an ounce, while the discount to the gold price fell to a four-month low of $113 an ounce.
