Johannesburg - Foreigners were net buyers of R3.148bn of South African bonds including repurchase agreements in the week ended October 28, after net purchases of R1.312bn of local bonds the week before, figures from the JSE show.
This brought net purchases including repurchase agreements for 2011 to date to R36.707bn.
In 2010 foreigners bought net R44.541bn of local bonds including repurchase agreements after net sales in 2009 of R3.293bn worth of bonds.
Foreigners were net buyers of R3.138bn of South African bonds excluding repurchase agreements last week after net purchases of R1.477bn of local bonds the week before.
This brought net purchases excluding repurchase agreements for the year to date to R45.046bn.
In 2010 foreigners bought net R57.064bn of local bonds excluding repo transactions after net purchases in 2009 of R27.346bn worth of local bonds.
