Cape Town - Zimbabwe's political and business leaders are appealing for an end to Western sanctions and greater investment in the country's battered economy.
Deputy Prime Minister Arthur Mutumbara told the World Economic Forum meeting on Africa that an end to sanctions would give Zimbabwe "a fresh start."
Finance Minister Tendai Biti said the unity government wanted to turn Zimbabwe into a new "African tiger."
Both Biti and Mutambara belong to the former opposition Movement for Democratic Change. Party leader Morgan Tsvangirai, who is Zimbabwe's prime minister, is due to meet President Barack Obama in Washington on Friday to press for an end to sanctions.
