London - The final bag of "pic 'n' mix" sweets from iconic British chain store Woolworths, which collapsed last month, sold for £14 500 ($21 000) on Saturday.
The 800g bag of sweets - containing treats like fizzy cola bottles, pineapple cubes and Turkish delight - attracted 115 bids before selling on internet auction site eBay.
Woolworths, a general store selling everything from CDs to children's clothes and kitchenware, was a fixture on many British high streets until it closed its doors after a century of trading in January.
Known affectionately as "Woolies", the chain fell victim to the worldwide economic slowdown with the loss of 27 000 jobs at some 800 branches.
The "pic 'n' mix" section - where shoppers could fill a paper bag with their favourite sweets from a vast range - was one of the most popular, particularly among children.
The sweets were auctioned by Ed Adams, manager of a Woolworths store in Kent, south-east England, after he scooped them up on the final day of trading. They have been certified by administrators Deloitte as the very last bag.
Proceeds from the sale will go to a charity for retail workers.
