Berlin - German auto giant Daimler, which produces Mercedes, said on Monday that their night-shift factory workers will have their hours modified to allow them to watch Germany's World Cup semi-final against Spain.
"In all of our factories, the working hours of our staff will be tweaked or organised so that our employees have the chance to watch the semi-final," said a company statement.
On Wednesday, the company's largest factory Sindelfingen, in south-west Germany, the evening shift will end at 19:30 instead of 22:00 with the night shift starting at 01:00 instead of the usual 22:00.
Germany's clash with Spain in Durban gets under way at 18:30GMT on Wednesday.
