Cape Town - The four wind turbines at the Darling Wind Farm are once again operational, delivering clean electricity to the Cape municipality, Raoul Goosen, the project manager for the Energy Development Corporation, a division of the Central Energy Fund, confirmed on Wednesday.
According to Goosen the technical problems at the 5.2MW wind farm have been temporarily sorted out. As to allegations of management problems Goosen said "there is still a dispute between Hermann Oelsner's company and that of the wind farm over the management contract".
Oelsner contends that four technicians from German turbine supplier Fuhrländer came to get the turbines working again. The wind farm has been out of commission since February.
He said an arbitration hearing in respect of the dispute had been arranged for July 28.
Goosen says the wind farm is considering expansion. Approval has been obtained to build an additional six turbines.
