Cape Town - Representatives of De Oranjecamping, a camping organisation aimed at supporters of the Netherlands soccer team, are visting South Africa for the fifth time to plan routes for the 2010 tournament. The organisation has apparently already hired 85% of all available camping vehicles in South Africa.

The organisation makes preparations for supporters when the Netherlands team plays in a Fifa World Cup tournament, or in matches organised by the European soccer controlling body, Uefa.

The organisation was created in 2004 with the European championship tournament in Portugal, providing accommodation for 400 Dutch supporters. It proved so popular that during the 2006 World Cup soccer tournament in Germany it provided accommodation for 2 700 Dutch supporters. And with last year's European championship tournament some 5 500 Dutch supporters made use of De Oranjecamping main camping site in Interlaken, Switzerland.

Shortly after the recent final World Cup draw in Cape Town, De Oranjecamping 2010 quickly began to take shape and, according to the organisation's official website, its delegation in South Africa is becoming more enthusiastic about the possibilities the draw has offered the Netherlands team.

According to Jokko de Wit, the organiser of the South African 2010 camping tour, the supporters' camping route will go through the most beautiful parts of South Africa.

On the website he declares that it is an ideal route in terms of the big stadiums, the tourism highlights, and the good weather.

Wieke de Vries, who is helping with the tour arrangements, says the De Oranjecamping team has recently travelled from Cape Town to Johannesburg via Port Elizabeth and Durban. This is the reverse of the route that will be taken with the supporters during the 2010 tournament.

She says the team has visited possible camping sites in all these areas.

Dutch people living in South Africa are invited to join them.
