WITH NEW PAY-TV service Top TV becoming available this month, MultiChoice has responded with a new DStv service called DStv Lite, designed to tackle the competition. The DStv Lite package will cost R99/month and offer 25 TV channels, plus a variety of music and radio stations. With sports being a major factor for TV services in South Africa the new Lite package will feature SuperSport Blitz and SuperSport Action, which means there isn’t much in the way of major live sporting events.

In its “SA Twitter Report 2010” the company says it estimates SA to have 55 000 active Twitter users who collectively send 1,5m messages/month using the micro-blogging service. Fuseware says it only counted users who had sent a message in the last month as “active” users.
