AFRICA’S MOST VALUABLE
BRANDIRECTORY, an online encyclopaedia of brands, has rated MTN as the most valuable brand in Africa, worth US$4,7bn (approximately R30bn). Its nearest rivals – Vodacom, Orascom Telecom of Egypt, FNB and Standard Bank – are valued at a little more than half as much.
LOERIES TAKES OFF
THE LOERIE AWARDS has launched its campaign for this year’s event, themed “Don’t hate. Create.” The 33rd Loeries take place in Cape Town from 16 to 18 September and will introduce nine new categories, including Street Pole Advertising and Tactical Print.
ADREVIEW
You, too, can be there
THE MOVERS and shakers of the marketing world will gather at the Sandton Sun Maroela Room on 20 April for the AdReview Awards. It’s expected – as usual – that the marketing world’s decision-makers will be fully represented among the 500 guests, as it’s a great evening for networking, for catching up with industry gossip and for saying hello to your business competitors in a neutral environment.
The awards primarily celebrate agency achievements, with the final accolade going to the Ad Agency of the Year, sponsored by M-Net/Oracle. Agencies are also acknowledged in various size, geographical and specialist categories and individual achievement is also rewarded.
Some awards are sponsored by companies with an interest but not a stake in the outcome. Thus regional radio station Jacaranda FM sponsors Gauteng Agency of the Year. Media24 Magazines, bidding to encourage advertiser interest in its medium, sponsors the Magazine Campaign Award.
If you want to attend this glittering occasion, tickets are available to all for R950, with a 10% discount for 10 or more. Please contact Adele Lucas Promotions at (011) 646 5630 or toat@mweb.co.za. The Sandton Sun is offering special rates for out-of-town delegates who want to stay over. å
