Johannesburg – Filmmaker and entrepreneur Obakeng Malope is not going to allow a lack of funding to derail her plans to make a film that raises awareness about homophobia.
Malope is a finalist in the Eskom Business Investment Competition for 2016. A Public Service Announcement (PSA) she made to raise awareness about homophobia won the MNet Tag award for Special Mention Best Sound in 2012. She also shot a documentary on rapper Mr Selwyn, which was broadcast on Mzansi Magic.
In an interview with Fin24, the 28-year-old shared more about her passion to tell stories about South Africans.
