Cape Town - The Department of Trade and Industry (dti) invites companies and exporters to apply to take part in the Feira Internacional de Angola (Filda) which will take place in Luanda from July 21 to 26 2016.
Companies interested in showcasing their products and services at the annual fair have until Friday April 22 2016 to submit their application forms. The main sectors that the international trade fair will focus on, include agriculture, automotive components, agro-processing, logistics, infrastructure, and mining and capital equipment.
The dti will set up a National Pavilion at Filda and will provide financial assistance to qualifying companies through its Export Marketing and Investment Assistance (Emia) scheme to participate and showcase their products. The aim would be to increase exports of SA manufactured products to Angola.
According to Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Mzwandile Masina, Filda will expose SA companies to trade and investment opportunities available in Angola and other countries participating in the annual multi-sectoral exhibition.
Last year about 1 000 companies from about 40 countries participated in the exhibition, with more than 50 000 visitors attending.
”The dti is striving to facilitate economic development through promoting outward investment, intra-Africa trade, regional industrialisation and infrastructure development within the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region and the rest of Africa," said Masina.
"Filda will be a good platform to promote SA manufactured products in the Angolan market and beyond."
