Cape Town - The Cap40 gala and business awards ceremony will take place on Friday December 2 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.

This is an annual event which aims at promoting business or individuals for their outstanding performance and contribution to the French-South African business community in the Western Cape.

According to the organisers, the event promises to be an opportunity for those looking for co-founders, partners, coaches, core team members or even a job opportunity with the French business community in Cape Town.

The evening's programme includes activities from wine tastings to a 3D printing demonstration and of pitch contests.

The different awards presented will include Young Entrepreneur of the year Awards; Best Entrepreneur (under 35s who created a business that help the economy grow); Best French Tech Initiative; Best Speaker of the Year; Gout de France (for promoting French tastes in the Western Cape); and Best Trade & Investment.

French or South African business operating in the Western Cape could apply. The business should not be able to raise funds easily from traditional banks or funding agencies because of the risks involved and the early stage of the project. The business should be at the idea or pre-revenue stage.
