Join City Press for a panel discussion titled The Economic Dividend of Diversity and facilitated by editor at large Mondli Makhanya.
The discussion is one of the events at the first annual Leaderex Conference, which takes place at the Sandton Convention Centre on Thursday, September 17.
With the new BBBEE codes and the dismal results of the women in leadership survey, the discussion centres on why companies need to understand that transformation is not a game of box-ticking, but that when it’s undertaken with integrity and a passion for change, it can grow a company’s competitiveness and, subsequently, its bottom line.
On the panel are:
- Farzanah Mall, executive director of the Businesswomen’s Association of SA and a director in the advisory risk consulting division at KPMG;
- Lumka Mhlahlo, enterprise development manager at the Gordon Institute of Business Science;
- Duma Gqubule, co-founder of KIO Advisory Services, which provides clients with strategic advice on economic transformation and how to implement it; and
- Chris van Wyk, CEO of AQRate, and co-author of two publications: The Black Economic Scorecard Manual and Empowermentor.
He has also drafted several amended BEE sector codes.
The panel discussion begins at the Sandton Convention Centre on Thursday, September 17, at 5.30pm.
