Johannesburg - An innovative business venture whose founder claims has the potential to empower 1 000 families to earn between R3 600 and R5 000 a month was launched in Centurion on Thursday evening.
Marnus Roothman, the managing partner at Eco-Elegance Mobile Car Care – which is the name of the business venture – told Fin24 in an interview that the venture had the potential to make money and was also a major empowerment project.
“This (venture) will make a meaningful contribution to the South African economy; and 5 000 to 10 000 families (are set) to be financially self-sufficient,” said Roothman.
Eco-Elegance Mobile Car Care is in the business of cleaning cars inside and outside and it also provides dash treatment, black trim enhancement, leather care and treatment and many other car cleaning things.
The most interesting thing about this venture is that it believes it can save South Africa more than 2 billion litres of water a year by using little or no water at all.
The business strategy is that they train micro-entrepreneurs to be precise car care detailers over a period of 2 – 3 days.
“With this venture, we are in the process (not hoping) to empower around 1 000 medium sized entrepreneurs to start a sustainable business with a recurring client base, for a negotiated investment R105 000 that will give them a net income of around R12 000 a month,” Roothman said.
Each entrepreneur will then supply contract work to initially 5 micro-entrepreneurs (with no cost from their side), enabling them to each take home between R3 600 – R5 000 a month.
