Abuja - President Jacob Zuma addressed a joint session of Nigeria’s parliament on Tuesday and called for improved implementation of agreements signed by both countries.
South Africa and Nigeria, as the continent’s two biggest economies, need to work together to advance the interests of African people, Zuma said in the capital, Abuja, to applause by lawmakers.
African countries face unfair trade terms while participating in the global economy, making them vulnerable to volatilities that weaken their currencies, he said. The South African leader said African countries should strive to ensure that factories are located near the sources of raw material commodities they produce.
