Dec credit growth quickens to 10.28%

Johannesburg - Growth in private sector credit demand in South Africa quickened to 10.28% year-on-year (y/y) in December, Reserve Bank data showed on Friday.

Credit extension grew 9.53% in November from a year earlier.

Growth in the broadly defined M3 measure of money supply also quickened to 10.44% year-on-year in December.

It was 9.35% y/y in November.
