Cape Town – President Jacob Zuma has distanced himself from comments by Eskom chairperson Zola Tsotsi, who is currently in a board meeting that could recommend his axing.
Zuma’s spokesperson Mac Maharaj said the Presidency had noted with “great concern” the comments attributed to Tsotsi in the Mail and Guardian on 27 March.
“The chairperson reportedly said he understood a comment from President Jacob Zuma during a casual conversation he had with him at a social function that he should do what he had to do at Eskom, as a directive,” Maharaj said in a statement on Monday.
