Johannesburg - President Jacob Zuma has appointed five new commissioners to the Independent Commission for the Remuneration of Public Office Bearers, for a period of five years, in terms of the Independent Commission for the Remuneration of Public Office Bearers Act.
The commissioners are:
- Hon. Justice Cagney John Musi, judge of the Free State Division of the High Court;
- Dr Loyiso Mzisi Mbabane, chairperson of the Commission for Employment Equity;
- Thandeka Nozipho Mgoduso, non-executive director at the SA Reserve Bank (Sarb);
- Andrew Lekgotla Pheto, special advisor to the deputy chairperson of the Congress of Traditional Leaders of SA;
- Dr Ronl Nienaber, vice president and global head of rewards at the Sasol Group;
The president has also, in terms of the act designated Justice Musi as chairperson of the commission.
The president has thanked former chairperson the Hon. Judge Willie Seriti and all commissioners who served during the past five years.
"They have served the country with distinction. Their hard work and commitment are most appreciated,'' said Zuma.
He said the team collectively brings extensive experience, knowledge and understanding of the judicial, legislative and executive matters, business leadership, corporate governance, executive remuneration skills as well as professional and academic experience on human resources.
"We wish Judge Musi and the new team well in their new responsibilities and national service,'' said Zuma.
