Johannesburg - The ATP fund, the Danish $92bn pension fund, has confirmed that it may divest from resources giant Anglo American because of its continuing activity in Zimbabwe.
According to Global Pensions, a retirement and pensions news site, ATP said it was undertaking an investigation into the investments, but that it was too early to say definitively whether ATP would sell out of its holdings in Anglo American.
Last week Anglo said it was pressing head with a $400m investment in the Unki platinum mine in Zimbabwe.
While it said it was "deeply concerned" about the current political
situation in Zimbabwe, the company's decision to go ahead with the
investment despite British government's pressure on companies to withdraw from the country has incited massive criticism.
