Greek lawmakers have approved a new round of drastic austerity measures after a long day of street battles between police and protesters left dozens injured.
Johannesburg - The retail price of petrol will drop next week, the energy
department said on Friday.
Petrol 93 ULP & LRP and Petrol 95 ULP and LRP will both drop in
price by 21 cents a litre.
Petrol 95 ULP in Gauteng will now cost R7.69 a litre, the
department added.
The wholesale price of diesel with a 0.05% sulphur
content will drop by 20 cents a litre.
Diesel with a 0.005% sulphur content will drop by 21
cents a litre.
The wholesale price of illuminating paraffin will decrease by 14
cents a litre and the single maximum national retail price for
illuminating paraffin will decline by 19 cents a litre.
During the period under review - June 26 to July 30 - the
average international product prices of petrol, diesel and
illuminating paraffin decreased, the department said.
The average rand/dollar exchange rate for the period under
review was 7.9840 compared to 8.1093 during the previous period,
the department said.
